May Birchbox review

It has been a week since I finished university. I couldn't post after November as I was super busy with the dissertation and exams. Several post will be published this month so follow me on instagram or twitter for the announcement.

I got May Birch box last week. If you want more information about the Birch box, please let me know I’ll do separate post on that. This month theme was ‘Free your mind’ and special campaign with the nail guru WAH London, with choice of sample selection.

1.   Jelly Pong Pong – Caribbean Sun Bronzer Duo in Martinique - £15.95
Its lightweight formula infused with mango and argan butter for moisturising. I am absolute in love with this bronzer, as its matte and pigmented. I do like the blush shade but it would have been better if it was a matte. However, the blush can be great substitute for the eye shadow especially for the summer.

2.    Wah London – from £7
This month we had choice to select from nail polish, nail art pen or press on nails. So I selected a nail polish hoping for a pastel shade nail polish. However the nail polish shade I received was dark green which is totally not suitable for the summer.

3.   Mirenesse – Mattfinity Lip Rouge in Paris - £21
I have always loved the lip products I have received in the Birch box, but this month I was quite disappointed. The packaging is good and its matte shade which are two features I always consider before purchasing any lip products. The applicator fills in fine line perfectly and it is super hydrating. However I didn’t like the shade as it’s quite dark and more suitable for winter  but it’s not appealing for me at all. I prefer  pink or coral lip  so this has been highly disappointed product but I must say the product can be applied on its own does not require moisturized lip.

4.     Whish- Three Wishes Body Butter in Almond- £14.50
Its an organic body butter with Shea butter, aloe and raspberry butter. The product claims to be great weapon to battle against dryness. I was quite happy with this body butter as I was looking for the alternative for the summer as I just finished  the Ted Baker products.

5. Parlor by Jeff Chastain – moisturising Sea Salt Spray- £17
Its sulfate free and suitable for coloured hair, with vitamin rich algae and almond oil combine to add texture and leaves scalp nourished. It smells amazing and highly recommended for the summer. I have used this product twice on damp hair and highly recommend for the girls who has curly or wavy hair like me.

6. Number 4 Lumiere d’hiver reconstructing Masque- £36
This was the extra beauty bonus I received in this month box. This moisturising sachet claims to leave hair smooth, strengthens and shiny as it contains soy protein, jojoba seeds and Shea butter. I haven’t used the product yet but looking forward to use it as my hair really need some care especially during the summer as it tend to get more dry.

I hope you enjoyed reading this post, let me know your feedback and comment below if you have any further suggestion

  1. I love that the blusher is shimmery, but totally agree that it can also be used as an eye shadow! Great post!xx
